Planning your Romantic Weekend

Here's what we suggest for your long romantic weekend in Hinton, WV. Please doublecheck availability, ticket prices, and current guidelines for your planned activities.




Friday, Arrival and Check-in. Take your bags in. Walk down the block to The Market for a a quiet dinner for 2. Weather permitting, you could enjoy a relaxing dinner on the patio, and if you’re lucky enough to be in the Rosemary suite, enjoy a nice long soak in the Roman tub. Rest up for the next day.

Saturday, Sleep in and fuel up with your complimentary breakfast. Lounge around this morning. Spend the afternoon in town. Visit Explore Summers County for information on a walking tour of town. Shop at the local stores - Boho, Detra's, Otter & Oak, Hinton Floral, Grandma's House Antiques, and Big Four Drug Store and Soda Fountain. Catch a movie at The Ritz Theatre – show starts at 7pm.


Sunday, Make sure you have comfortable walking shoes. Take River Road to Sandstone Falls. This is the widest waterfall on the New River and the gateway to the New River Gorge National Park. A sturdy boardwalk offers easy access to the waterfall and lots of photo ops for your morning adventure. After lunch head to Winterplace Ski Resort for an afternoon on the slopes or schedule a trail ride at Pipestem State Park.



Monday, Get a couples massage at Pipestem Spa or venture a little further out to The Salt Cave and Spa in White Sulphur, WV. Pack your bags for home and book your next visit to the Hinton Historic District.

We were blessed to stay in the Rosemary Room, which was truly delightful. What gorgeous accomodations the whole home offers! Every lovely touch, from the soft, comfy towels, bed, sofa, bath soaps and silky robes made the room restful and peaceful! The kitchen was stocked with goodies, fresh fruit, cereals, coffees, teas, creamer and milk, which we really appreciated after a drive to get there. We ordered a ham & cheese quiche for breakfast, and it was scrumptious, the best I've ever had! We did walk about town, learned some history, and stopped into The Market for desserts, too! Mmmmm! Vickie was super helpful, cheerful and fun, and she made the visit personally memorable! After our stay, we headed to…
